Revathi!

Her son-in law mentioned his new car would arrive on Friday.Some how a calculation in her mind had told the coming Friday is Revathi,her daughter's star.This thought brought a gentle smile on her and faded unnoticed.It was on Friday morning she came to know Revathi did not rule Friday.Later she learnt the new car would arrive on Saturday,the star was Revathi.Her heart wished for good tidings on Revathi and in addition to getting a new carher daughter was given a chance to to join the panel to conduct an interview.Small joys remained purely personal but added energy to let go darkness that always comes with light.May Revathi be blessed.

Garuda!

Yesterday,my toddler looking at the sky said "garuda". My memory got stirred.I looked into myself,became aware of the fact That Garuda brings a lot of good thoughts and spotting garuda adds smile.Then I tried to get at the origin of this obsession.When i was a school girlmay be some 60 years back,When I looked at the sky and spotted a garuda,I was told its a good sign to spot.It had stayed at that.When my child was 7or 8 she would always spot it with enthusiasm and it caught me.once I looked the sky and wished I would spot one Garuda and really found one.I recall ,I have been making it a point to search for one where ever I went.I did spot one when in Thirupathi,one in Badari when I was there.But This toddler of 19 months naming it looking at the sky did surprise me and feel the babe has some devine preknowledge.

power of the Sun!

Saturday was not a good day for kriti.She had seen her daughter in pain and off mood. That resulted in rough talk.She kept wondering how she could help.The day ended with her thinking.She woke up next day a bit late.When she looked at the sky she saw the Sun gently heralding the day.She stood stock still.It was beautiful.Too beautiful for the words.As she stared her mind recalled a thought she had heard recently.If You stand before the Sun with reverence and seek a thing you will be bestowed.Her mind said,"Oh Sun,help my daughter fight the ailment and carry the day with cheer and spirit".So saying she went about her work.When she met her daughter there was no shade of pain.The whole day she was active and gentle.she spoke in appreciation.She spoke her concern.She not only invited her to dinner,the dinner was made well and in time.First time dinner was ready by 8pm.Whether you believe in the power of Sun or not,She decided to be more reverential to THE SUN!

My angel does it again!

I was trying to engage him and streched myself on the floor.

He said,"edda,edda,manchu ann". ( get up this is no bed).

I was looking at an invitation card.He saw me and said,"shantha aunty kuttale"

(given by shantha aunty).

It is a practice to pray at mantap after the bath.we teach him to repeat,

"jootha.kapathappa,enne,appave,ammave".

( Oh god,bless me,my father,and mother)

When did it yesterday, he added "Thee pative" meaning his grand mother,whose

neme is Mythily,he calls her Thee pati.

when I was reporting this to his mother he added" venuthathave"

Amazing.

My toddler angel is fond of Tabala.So we thought we would bring him a toy drum.

we did.When we handed him saying your tabala,he took it saying"drum"

My husband was looking at a birth chart ,I was sitting with this angel.I asked my

husband in kannada"Nakshatra yavudu"( what is the star),m lttle one responded saying star.

Prelearning?

We believe in doing our bit to remember the almighty in terms of pooja.Our toddler grand son spends time with us as his parents will be off on duty.He is a keen observer and seems to learn too.The other day an acquaintance of ours was here with an invitation to invite us.The babe took the card into his hands,looked at it,saw the symbols of srivaishnavas,and said,"shanki--chakri--".we were amazed.He was recalling the lines of Vishnusahasranama looking at the symbols.Whats this other than being born with learning! May be broader mind field than an average? May the babe be blessed.
